In this book discusses the earliest recorded religion in history that of the Hindus, which precedes the religions of Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Hinduism stands out as a unique and extensive belief system, unlike any other in civilized societies. Rather than being a singular structure, it resembles a grand palace with multiple layers, integrating various religions. Its theology, mythology, and scriptures are vast, requiring devoted study to comprehend fully. Hinduism is not mere superstition or paganism; instead, it exudes awe-inspiring profundity. A remarkable address at the Parliament of Religions beautifully captures the essence of Hinduism, embodying the lofty ideals of this ancient faith.

About The Editor: Manmatha Nath Dutt (1855–1912) was a distinguished Bengali writer and a renowned scholar proficient in Sanskrit and Pali. He held prominent positions as a rector in educational institutions like Keshab Academy and Serampore College. Often hailed as India's most prolific translator of Hindu epics and sacred texts, he later adopted the name Manmatha Nath Shastri after obtaining his degree. Dutt's achievements included a translation of Mahanirvan Tantra and a comprehensive book on the life, teachings, and order of Buddha. In the preface of the latter, he stated that it was based on all available works in Sanskrit and Pali.
