About The Author

Nick Larsen is Chair of the Department of Sociology at Chapman University, Orange, CA. He is the editor of Canadian Criminal Justice: An Issues Approach to the Administration of Justice (1998) and co-editor (with Brian Burtch) of Law and Society: Canadian Readings (1999). Russell Smandych is Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada.
