Not one is a public advocate for the victims of clergy abuse. There are over 400,000 priests serving in parishes around the world. Being generous, less than 500 have openly opposed clergy abuse or criticized the hierarchy for their gross incompetence in handling clergy abuse, protecting abusers and for bringing a monumental scandal down upon the church in a public forum. That's one tenth of one percent! They are guilty either by their sins of omission or commission. Therefore, God Damn Both Priests and Bishops. This book, in a logical and concise manner, through essays, explodes the myths created by the Roman Catholic Church clergy to excuse their inexcusable cover-up and protection of priests, nuns and bishops who have sexually abused children around the world. Most of the essays have attributions and many of the citations are directly from both books of the bible, the Catechism and Canon Law. In other words, Nauheimer has hoisted the RCC on its own petard. This book exposes the extent of the global problem of clergy abuse, destroys the myths of it being a recent phenomenon and offers theories and insights into why clergy abuse has both gone on for centuries and why the church is loath to put an end to it. God Damn Bishops and Priests is a must read for anyone with even a passing interest in the Clergy Abuse Scandal as it provides useful information for any intelligent discussion on the subject. It should be required reading for all Catholics because, if it were, it might affect the sorely needed changes in a church gone mad with power. Lastly, it is a must read for survivors, because it offers validation. One important thing to keep in mind is that the essays contained in this book have been posted on websites around the world over the years and no one, especially members of the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church has ever written or complained to me about the accuracy of the information contained in these essays. That fact, in and of itself, speaks volumes about the contents of this book.
