Whether you are someone who has a good walk with the Lord or just wanting to draw closer to Christ. Every person of faith finds themselves wanting or needing of a better connection with God. For the person who has drifted, we don't always remember how it happened or how we arrived at that point in our spiritual journey. However, we are all at one time or another, awakened by the realization that we want more of God.
We remember as David did in the Psalms, times where we enjoyed our relationship and our closeness with God. He says, "These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God under the protection of the Mighty One with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng." (Psalm 42:4, NIV) So, we make the decision and commitment to grow in our faith and press hard after God once again. To experience the thriving faith that we want for ourselves.
Our hope and prayer are that you take these next thirty days with the Going Deeper Devotion and be purposeful in pressing hard after God through these reflections. Each day has a passage that will help the reader be reminded of God's Faithfulness and goodness. The Big Idea for that reflection and passage giving the main point or permanent principle. An expanded take-away thought in the Insight section. Along with a daily Challenge and Prayer sections to solidify the reflection and growth for that respective devotion. Additionally, each devotion includes a Going Deeper section that features some writer, commentator, or expanded reference for the day's passage or ideas.

Gervasi, Frank: - Pastor Frank was raised in a Catholic home, to Italian parents, on Chicago's Southwest side. In his early twenties was invited to an inner-city church, after a time of seeking God. While there he heard the Gospel preached with power for the first time and accepted the Lord on June 3, 1993. Pastor Frank is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute and alumnus of Midwest Theological Seminary. He has served in various capacities over the years. He has Pastored several churches vocationally in Illinois since 2016, and he also served as a Missionary/Church Planter for the North American Mission Board. Additionally, he served as Leadership Development Team Leader for a church association and has a passion for the Gospel and seeing people grow in their faith. He is married with three children and loves anything having to do with family.
Gervasi, Samuel: - Samuel was raised in a Christian home and accepted the Lord at a young age. After sensing God's leading from a bible tract and was baptized. While attending a Youth Conference answered an altar call to be used by God in a greater way and serve him. Samuel felt God's calling to ministry and answered. He has served in several capacities in the local church as Worship Leader, Adult Discipleship, Teen Ministry, & Administration. He is an Alumnus of the Moody Bible Institute and loves teaching and serving God by advancing the message of Christ.
