This is a relocation story of a single mother and her teenage daughter to Toronto, Canada. It is a move that proves daunting and challenging. The memoir takes us on an emotional roller coaster of triumphs and failures and shows their determination to start a new life against the odds.

Jennylynd (Lindy) James is a published food scientist with over 15 years' food industry experience. She was a recipient of the prestigious Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and studied Food Science at McGill University, Canada where she earned a PhD. Jennylynd worked for large multinational companies like Dole Food CO. and Boskovich Farms in California, and Keelings Multiples in Ireland. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she has lived in Florida, California, Quebec, Ontario, and Ireland. While in Ireland Jennylynd started a business promoting Caribbean food and developed a range of Caribbean style sauces and seasonings. She ran this business for five years with artistic flair. In Ireland she also discovered her hidden talent for painting and fine art. When the Irish economy crashed on the heels of a worldwide recession, Lindy decided to fold up the business and move to Toronto, Canada. She wrote the memoir 'Escape From Eire' to capture details of her life changing experiences while living and working in Ireland. However, the turmoil experienced in uprooting from Ireland to move to Canada came with unexpected psychological challenges which are captured in her new novel Goodbye Frying Pan Hello Fire. Jennylynd enjoys recounting her life experiences and sharing her relocation stories with people who may have similar stories. She hopes to touch the reader by evoking an understanding of all the emotions involved in moving and living in a foreign country. She wants her stories of resilience and thriving to empower and motivate readers. Jennylynd lives in Bloor West Village, Toronto, Canada where she has embraced self expression in art, music, and writing.
