Mit dem Bildänderungsprinzip wurde eine in die Numerische Steuerung von Werkzeugmaschinen integrierbare grafisch dynamische Simulation des Bearbeitungsvorganges für Doppelschlittendrehmaschinen entwickelt, mit der ohne wesentliche Mehrkosten in hoher Stückzahl gebaute Standardsteuerungen ausgerüstet werden können. Sie erlaubt vor der Bearbeitung des ersten Werkstückes eine risikolose Prüfung von NC-Steuerdaten, auch hinsichtlich eines aufgabenmä igen und optimalen Verhaltens der internen Verarbeitungsalgorithmen von proze nahen Steuerungskomponenten. Der Einrichter kann Fehler in den NC-Steuerdaten, die zu geometrischen und in gewissem Umfang auch technologischen Kollisionen führen, rechtzeitig erkennen. Ohne Gefährdung von Mensch, Maschine und Werkstück lä t sich eine Optimierung der Verfahrwege und des Werkzeugeinsatzes durchführen. Der Einrichtebetrieb wird verkürzt. Die Module der grafischen Bearbeitungssimulation bauen auf dem ebenfalls entwickelten grafischen Grundsystem GGS auf. Dieses Grafiksystem steht durch seine innere Ablaufsteuerung allen NC-Funktionsprogrammen quasi parallel zur Verfügung und kann neben der Erfüllung üblicher Grafikfunktionen selbständig mehrere Werkzeugbilder mit verhältnisgerechter Geschwindigkeit verfahren.
