La culture du piment est soumise � divers facteurs limitants, tels que les facteurs abiotiques, c'est-�-dire le stress hydrique, les fortes pr�cipitations, la verse due � la faible croissance des racines, la concentration en sel, le refroidissement, les temp�ratures �lev�es, et les facteurs biotiques, c'est-�-dire les maladies transmises par le sol, les virus, les parasites suceurs et les n�matodes, etc. Les principaux objectifs de la greffe de l�gumes sont d'�liminer les parasites du sol et les probl�mes li�s � l'acidit� et � la salinit� du sol, ainsi que d'accro�tre la productivit�. Le greffage est utilis� pour accro�tre l'uniformit�, la vigueur et la r�sistance aux stress biotiques et abiotiques des plantes multipli�es par voie v�g�tative (c'est-�-dire les arbres et arbustes fruitiers et ornementaux). En raison de la mortalit� �lev�e des semis apr�s la greffe, la technologie de la greffe n'est pas encore bien d�velopp�e en Inde. Pour son application commerciale en Inde, il est n�cessaire d'affiner les comp�tences en mati�re de greffage et de normaliser l'environnement de gu�rison. Le maintien d'une temp�rature optimale (25 C � 28 C).
