In 2010 Ruth was given a word a day by a loving God--to inspire and nurture her as she pursued her highest ideals. She pondered and applied each of the action words as best she could, relating it to her everyday life. Then she invited you (readers) to join her by posing questions to encourage thought and action on your part, in light of your own unique circumstances. It's a faith-enhancing, life-challenging book to be read individually as a devotional or in pairs/groups to make it even more powerful as key points are discussed. Here are 153 of the 366 verbs she encountered that year--for those who are interested in growing in God's direction along with Ruth. Why did she select 153? Because that's the number of fish the disciples caught with the help of the resurrected Jesus, as recorded in John 21:1-14. It's a number that symbolizes the great harvest that is ours when we listen and obey. Just as this extraordinary "catch" amazed the disciples, so these inspired words can have an amazing impact on the lives of those who take them to heart and live them.

Ruth (Olnowich) Tschudin has felt God's touch in her life from early on; she was even prayed for "in utero." Her faith was kept active and growing over the years by spirit-enriching influencers such as family, friends, church, Billy Graham, Young Life, Norman Vincent Peale, and the Network of Biblical Storytellers. Now it's her turn to encourage others to discover and build upon the joy that only a vibrant ever-growing relationship with the Lord can provide. This book is one of many steps in doing that. Ruth has also written a highly-regarded educational book for teachers (published in 1980 by Parker, a subsidiary of Prentice-Hall), a booklet entitled "Following Jesus Today and Every Day: 52 Ways to Walk in His Footsteps" (2006) and an inspirational book written in her dog Jessie's voice ("Bark Up the Right Tree, Lessons from a Rescued Dog" on Amazon.com) which promotes adoption of children and animals while offering practical, heart-warming tips for everyday living. In 1999 Ruth started Open Doors, an Amazing Grace Foundation(www.opendoorsagf.org) to honor her mother Grace and to help people and animals in need. "Every step in the right direction is its own reward," says Ruth, who strives to live each day to the fullest--with God's help, of course.
