About The Book

I could've chosen to shrivel up and eventually die; although, I wouldn't have been able to grow if I did.

The time came when I had the chance to awaken to my authentic self. I pushed through the dark to embrace the light, with the decision to create a better life. I endured countless days, months, and even years growing through the muck to discover my true self. I realized that self-hatred and addiction only inhibit the growth that needs to be done to begin to sprout.

Though these times were challenging and difficult to make a headway, it became possible through the act of self-nourishment. It took one thought, one decision and one new habit to mutate the habits that self-hatred and addiction promoted. Through the investment of self-love, self-care and self-respect, my self-worth began to transpire.

About The Author

Holland, Vanessa: - Vanessa began her journey pushing through the challenging moments that left her in despair. With the thought of something better, with the desire to change, and with the hope she has a purpose, she stepped into the light and found the serenity that living can bring. She took a leap of faith, with the expectations to better her life, she dedicated herself to a lifelong commitment of self-care, self-love, and self-respect through the acts of self-nourishment. Throughout these times, she discovered her authentic self and her passion through the art of writing. Th e work she had to do required a team of dedicated individuals to help her rebuild her foundation to a better life. She was able to be inspired by the selfl ess acts of the compassionate people that helped her along her journey of enlightenment. Th ough it was all a journey to begin with, she was able to grow rather than shrivel up and die like most do spiritually or physically; and that stemmed from the choice to live a better life.
