About The Author

Hermann Rau hat das Fachgebiet Physikalische Chemie an der UniversitAt Hohenheim vertreten. Er hat in TUbingen und MUnchen Chemie studiert, in TUbingen bei Prof. KortUm promoviert, ein Jahr am Biophysics Department der Michigan State University gearbeitet und 1972 in TUbingen habilitiert. Danach baute er in Hohenheim die Physikalische Chemie als Fach auf, wo er 30 Jahre lang als Abteilungsvorsteher und Fachgebietsleiter in Forschung und Lehre tAtig war. Er hat ca. 100 Arbeiten publiziert, vor allem auf den Gebieten Spektroskopie und Photochemie von Azoverbindungen, asymmetrische Photochemie und lichtinduzierte ElektronenUbertragung. Er hat an der Washington State University und der UniversitE Bordeaux gearbeitet und Funktionen in der Fachgruppe Photochemie der GDCh und der European Photochemistry Association wahrgenommen.
