Akademische Arbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte, Note: 1,7, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit steht die folgende Forschungsfrage im Zentrum: "Wie entwickelt sich Hannah Arendts Souveränitätsbegriff und in welchem Kontrast steht dieser zu anderen Ideen von Souveränität der politischen Ideengeschichte?" Um diese Forschungsfrage zu beantworten, wird in dieser Arbeit der Begriff zu seiner Entstehung und in seinem frühesten Verständnis, nämlich dem von Jean Bodin und Thomas Hobbes, kurz beleuchtet. Anschlie end wird der Begriff nach Auffassung von Jean-Jacques Rousseau erkläret, also im Zeitgeist der Aufklärung. Den grö ten Teil der Arbeit soll, wie durch die Forschungsfrage bereits erkennbar, Hannah Arendts Verständnis der Souveränität ausmachen. Die Ableitung der Forschungsfrage, welche an Arendts Idee von Souveränität und Herrschaft heranführen soll, geschieht im Anschluss an den ideengeschichtlichen Kontext des Souveränitätsbegriffes. Um Hannah Arendts Souveränitätsbegriff zu verstehen, bedarf es erst der Erklärung der Konzepte von Handeln und Freiheit, aus denen sich Arendts Souveränitätsbegriff erschlie t. Dies soll hauptsächlich durch Anwendung hermeneutischer Methoden geschehen. Hierfür werden zwei primärliterarische Quellen verwendet. Zum einen der Essay "Freiheit und Politik" und zum anderen Arendts Buch "Über die Revolution", da sie sich in diesen beiden Werken so ausgiebig wie in keinem anderen mit Fragen von Politik, Freiheit und Souveränität beschäftigt. Ausgehend von diesen Interpretationen soll die gefolgerte Idee der Souveränität in den ideengeschichtlichen Kontext, bestehend aus den drei zuvor genannten Denkern, eingeordnet werden und die Arbeit schlie lich mit einem Fazit fertig gestellt werden.
