Will man hier den Bock zum Gärtner machen? Der Niedersächsische Rugbyverband (NRV) versucht Antworten auf die Fragen zu finden, ob Rugby eine gewaltpräventive Wirkung hat und was auf der psychosozialen Ebene mit Menschen passiert, die Rugby spielen. Diese Antworten hofft man, mit dem Projekt "Rugby - ein Teamsport zur Gewaltprävention?" zu finden, das diese Studie begleitet. Dazu wurde eine Versuchsgruppe an einer Hauptschule in Hannover ausgewählt, an denen untersucht werden sollte, was Rugbyspielen über einen Zeitraum von fünf Monaten bei Kindern und Jugendlichen bewirkt. Der Gewaltbegriff ist einer der schillerndsten Begriffe der Sozialwissenschaften und das Gewaltverhalten von jungen Menschen stellt oftmals ein gesellschaftliches Problem dar, vor dem man nicht die Augen verschlie en kann. Nicht auf Gewaltprobleme zu reagieren, hie e, einzelne Lehrerinnen und Lehrer an diesem Problem verzweifeln zu lassen und Opferkarrieren unter Schülerinnen und Schülern zu dulden. Die 'Gewaltspitze' liegt zwischen dem 13. und 20. Lebensjahr. Auch an diesem Punkt setzt das Rugby-Projekt (nicht ganz uneigennützig) an. Es bestehen begründete Annahmen zwischen einem Zusammenhang von jugendlichen Aggressionen und späterer Delinquenz (Straffälligkeit). Nicht auf Gewaltprobleme zu reagieren, hie e somit auch, eine spätere Delinquenz in Kauf zu nehmen. Aus diesem Grund darf man die Institution Schule nicht isoliert betrachten. Schule hat nicht nur die Aufgabe einer Wissensvermittlung, sondern sie wird in Zeiten infantiler Eltern, die zwar rechtlich immer noch einen Erziehungsauftrag haben, ihn aber informell oft schon abgegeben haben und in Zeiten immer unsicherer werdender Lebensperspektiven, zu einer immer bedeutendeneren Sozialisationsbasis für Kinder und Jugendliche
