This is the biographical journey of a physician/psychiatrist who, dealing with her own 50 year struggle with MS, learned about the shortcomings of pill-driven, test-and-diagnose medical practice. Working with indigent patients in the county hospital, she observed many practices that could have been improved. Dr Carmichael offers solutions for how to improve medical treatment and how patients can help themselves.
