"Herbal Beginnings" tells not only Callie's story as she begins an herbal adventure, but also encourages and informs anyone who might be interested in growing or using herbs, the useful plants. Recipes for an array of appetizers and cocktails that feature the plants from Callie's gardens are included, as well as profiles of herbs featured in the story. "Herbal Beginnings" is the first work of fiction by author and professional herb grower, Carolee Snyder. She began her herb farm in 1978 in southern Indiana. In 1992, she moved 80,000 plants to relocate in north central Indiana where she now resides with her husband, David. In addition to raising a family and running an herb business, she hosted a gardening radio show for eight years. When she's not at the farm or inventing recipes in the kitchen, she travels and speaks across the country encouraging gardening and the use of her beloved herbs.
