Hereditary Genius: An Inquiry into Its Laws and Consequences is a book written by Francis Galton, a British polymath and cousin of Charles Darwin. The book was first published in 1869 and is considered a pioneering work in the field of genetics and intelligence. In this book, Galton explores the concept of hereditary genius, which he defines as ""a natural gift for intellectual work or artistic excellence transmitted from parent to child.""
