Erklärtes Ziel ist es dabei, eine mögliche Methodenkombination abzuleiten und zu erörtern. Abstrakt ist dieses Vorhaben, da der Diskussion kein konkreter Forschungsgegenstand zugrunde liegt. Es geht nicht um eine praxissoziologische Auseinandersetzung mit einem Forschungsthema und auch nicht um einen historischen Abriss der beiden Methoden, sondern vielmehr darum, Konturen und Unterschiede herauszuarbeiten, um dann einen Raum zu öffnen für die potenziellen Chancen verschiedener Verknüpfungspunkte zur Erkenntniserweiterung, die eine derartige Methodenkombination ggf. ermöglichen könnten. In der qualitativen Sozialforschung werden Daten mittels verschiedener Verfahren gewonnen und ausgewertet. Das können bspw. Interviews, Feldbeobachtungen, Dokumente, Video-Material oder Biografien sein. Eine absolut objektive Haltung innerhalb des Forschungsprozesses ist kaum möglich und auch nicht gewünscht. Forscher: innen interagieren mit Akteur: innen im beforschten Feld. Sie erheben Daten mit einem perspektivgebundenen Wissen und interpretieren sie. Diese konträre Konstellation ist gleichzeitig in Regeln, Gütekriterien und Qualitätssicherungsfaktoren eingebettet, an die sich Forscher: innen halten müssen. Diese Hausarbeit möchte dem Thema inhaltlich mit folgenden Fragen als richtungsweisende Impulse begegnen: Welche methodischen Qualitäten gibt es? Weisen Grounded Theory und die hermeneutische Wissenssoziologie blinde Flecken auf, und wenn ja, welche? Wie wäre eine Methodenkombination denkbar? Und welche Besonderheiten hätte diese?
