Dabei wird insbesondere untersucht, welche Prinzipien Lehrkräfte bei der Notenvergabe anwenden. Die zentrale Fragestellung lautet: "Wie beeinflussen hierarchische Strukturen im Bildungssystem die Notengebung und deren Auswirkungen auf Bildungsgerechtigkeit unter Berücksichtigung sozialer Schicht und Bildungsansprüche?" Das zweite Kapitel führt in die gesellschaftliche und pädagogische Funktion der Schule ein. Es beleuchtet, wie Schulen zur Sozialisation, Qualifikation und Identitätsbildung beitragen. Dieses Kapitel bildet die Grundlage für das Verständnis der Rolle der Schule im Kontext hierarchischer Strukturen und deren Einfluss auf die Leistungsbewertung. Das dritte Kapitel beleuchtet umfassend das Konzept der Bildungsgerechtigkeit, welches für die Forschungsfrage von zentraler Bedeutung ist, da es den theoretischen Rahmen für das Verständnis der Auswirkungen hierarchischer Strukturen im Bildungssystem auf die Notengebung bietet. Im vierten Kapitel wird der Einfluss der sozialen Herkunft auf Bildung und Leistungsbewertung untersucht, wobei Bourdieus Kapitaltheorie und das Habitus-Konzept einbezogen werden, um zu analysieren, wie familiäre und soziokulturelle Herkunft die Bildungschancen und Leistungsbewertungen von Schülerinnen prägen. Das fünfte Kapitel betrachtet die Bezugsnormen in der Leistungsbewertung und deren Auswirkungen auf die Schülerinnen, um zu verstehen, wie verschiedene Bewertungsma stäbe die Wahrnehmung von Schülerinnen beeinflussen und die Bildungsgerechtigkeit tangieren.
