Hindu Fairy Tales Retold for Children is a collection of traditional Indian stories adapted for young readers. Rich in moral lessons, magic, and adventure, the tales introduce Hindu mythology and culture. Featuring gods, goddesses, magical creatures, and virtuous heroes, the stories emphasize values like bravery, kindness, and wisdom. The retellings simplify the language for accessibility, while preserving the essence and cultural significance of the original folklore. Through these captivating narratives, children learn important life lessons while enjoying the fantastical elements of ancient Indian traditions.

Florence Ann Griswold (1850–1937) was the central figure of Connecticut’s "Old Lyme Art Colony." After financial struggles, she transformed her home into a girls' school, later a boarding house. In 1899, artist Henry Ward Ranger rented a room, drawing artists like Childe Hassam. Her home became a hub for American Impressionists. Today, the Florence Griswold Museum preserves her legacy as a National Historic Landmark, showcasing American art and history and L.J. Bridgman (1857–1931) was an author known for his works on history, education, and practical guides for students and teachers. His historical fiction aimed to educate and entertain, while his instructional texts focused on improving teaching methods. Bridgman supported progressive education, influencing American educational theory in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
