Michele Delehanty grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Most of her adult years were spent in San Diego, California. She has been married over forty-seven years. She has a daughter who works with special needs children and is married to a career community law officer. She has a grandson in college. Michele currently resides in central Virginia. Her life work includes direct involvement with people through several non-profit charitable organizations. Activism and advocacy have always been a part of her life. She began her career working with individuals and families in the State and Community Mental Health systems in Ohio. She went on to work with several different community organizations involving children and adults of many cultures and walks of life. Social and economic justice has been her passion for decades with a focus on alleviating poverty, improving access to health and nutrition, as well as inclusiveness within and beyond the borders of her country. Before she retired, Michele worked with people who were considered "shut-ins, disabled, or in need of one-on-one care. She learned a great deal from her many occupations. Now retired, Michele is returning to her love of writing which began when she was just seven years old.
