Tom Stanks did his undergraduate work in creative writing, psychology and philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh and St. Vincent College, Latrobe, Pennsylvania to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was awarded another Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in theology from St. Mary's University and Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland. Tom continued his education at the University of Louvain, Belgium, culminating in the Doctorate from that renown theological faculty. He taught theology at St. Mary's University and Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland, St. John's Seminary, Plymouth, Michigan and the Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. Afterwards he studied Eastern philosophy and spirituality at seven Buddhist Centers from New York to Hawaii and counseled in a private clinic. Tom's credentials and experiences can't match his fascination with the natural awareness he sees in humans and nature alike. His cat Charmer's inner savvy caught a chipmunk on the run then opened her jaws to let him dash off into the woods without chase. The feline's keen senses allow for a different experience of the world, showing a vivid color in a consciousness that makes Charmer his teacher.
