Viktor Frankl, (1905-1997) was a neurologist and a psychiatrist, the founder of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis, the Third Viennese School of psychotherapy after Freud's psychoanalysis and Adler's Individual Psychology. Practitioners who are thoroughly familiar with Frankl's work, illustrate how this meaning-oriented approach can be used in the everyday counselling setting to uphold agency and to encourage a sense of mission in life. From the individual to the community and society, there is something for everyone to gain. Meaning-centered principles re-humanize the practice of medicine and psychotherapy. They re-kindle awe and respect for the suffering person. They encourage hope to create harmony and peace.
