A hyper-autobiographical tale based on a true story about a Girl and her dogs, and how she survived the cycle of domestic violence and escaped an island by choosing to surround herself with love, friends, baseball and humor.

Raised in a household of abuse and addiction, the Author decided somewhere along the way she had a choice: remain a victim... or don't. Not wanting to appear on a talk show by the age of 40 and be dissected by a well-meaning host, she chose the latter. She turned to writing in 6th grade when a teacher told her she could. With her love of baseball, dogs, ice skating and theatre (especially comedy) tucked under her wing, she found her niches and discovered she really liked who she had become and who she would still continue to become. She obtained her B.A. and M.A. in Theatre Arts as well as a Paralegal Certificate somewhere in between. In no particular order, her philosophies and values include but are not limited to: baseball, her dogs, be kind and not just when the cameras or rolling- and then resist the urge to post on social media about it (basically just be nice for the sake of being nice and not just to make yourself look really cool), make someone smile every day, do the right thing for the right reason, tell the truth, chocolate, treat everyone with respect, 33 Fords, and any Bruce Springsteen song will always make everything seem like it will be alright. She continues to take care to break no rules expect those in grammar and punctuation. And to this day, she still can't explain why she prefers speaking of herself in the third person.
