The first couple of hundred hours after completing your Recreational or Private Pilots Licence flight are amongst the most enjoyable of your early flying adventures: the shared joy of flight, new destinations to explore and new scenery to behold. But in this era of your logbook, a time of experience building is also, statistically, the riskiest. Poor decision-making and constantly eroding skill levels can align with bad luck to lead to rather undesirable outcomes. Many low-hour pilots succumb to misunderstanding, complacency and poor judgement. This book highlights the most common examples of skill fade found during Biennial Flight Reviews (Two Yearly Flight with Instructor, etc.), Currency Check flights, and School Hire/Rental Privilege Review Flights, as well as some of the worst 'post-training freedom' bad habits that creep in. Part A of the book gives hard, practical advice on becoming a safer and more proficient pilot, whereas Part B looks at the specific types of fatal accidents that low-hours pilots find themselves in.

This book is written by an experienced FAA CFI/CFII/MEII instructor with a background in Human Factors, currently flying professionally and instructing PPL under EASA & UK in the South of England. The author's extensive knowledge and practical experience in aviation make this guide a valuable resource for new pilots.
