The aim is to study the preparation and analysis of PVA/PEI/PEG hybrid membranes in terms ofCO2 and N2 gas permeation. PVA and PEI have an important capacity to form extended hydrogen bonds, which reduces membrane crystallinity and improves miscibility between PVA and PEI. Polyethylene glycol also interacts with PVA via hydrogen bonds, but these interactions are weaker as the hydrogen bond acceptor (ether O) has a much lower acceptor capacity than PEI (amine H). This explains the low miscibility and phase separation observed between PVA and PEG. Differential scanning calorimetry experiments revealed a decrease in PVA crystallinity due to these interactions. The removal of nitrate ions by PUROLITE A 520 E anion exchange resin and by cross-ion dialysis were studied. I proposed to study an example of desalination of low-salinity water by pervaporation, as well as the diagnosis of a reverse osmosis desalination unit.
