A Paradigm Shift European philosophy took the world by storm in the Enlightenment. Luminaries of the Age of Reason assured the globe they had the brain power to solve mankind's problems. But despite their best efforts - or more accurately, because of them - the world in subsequent centuries found itself progressively falling apart. Nations were disintegrating from within, spiritually adrift and morally bankrupt. The fruit of the Enlightenment seemed to have rotted on the vine. This book is a paradigm shift. It unapologetically critiques the faulty premises of the European intellectualism that gave rise to Western philosophy. It shows how the various systems of thought birthed by this intellectualism corrupted and misled human society on a global scale. Thinkers constructed ever more complex, and sometimes outrightly absurd, abstractions as they struggled to capture The Truth of existence. By the record and evidence of their own ultimate futility, the systems of thought failed to hit the mark. They failed because they abandoned the one approach that would have led people and their nations to great well-being in every sphere of life. The "meaning of life" is not the unknowable mystery European intellectualism enticed the world to believe it was. Students and professors of philosophy and Western civilization will find the insights presented here revelatory. They are powerful reasons for rejecting the grave errors of the past. Individuals and nations can and should rediscover the sure path to societal wellbeing, and begin to step into new realms of personal understanding and fulfilled living. The writer was born in Eastern Africa. Early in his career as a journalist he trained and worked as a sub-editor at the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal newspapers, in North-East England. He was also a Press Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, UK. His professional development included stints as Features Editor at the Daily Nation and East African Standard newspapers in Nairobi, Kenya, and later Managing Editor, The Standard, Kenya. He has traveled extensively in Europe, the Far East, Africa and the US. He authored an apologetics handbook, The Trinity: A Scientific Fact, at Amazon Kindle.
