Daniel Brooks was a 50-year-old husband, father and district-level administrator in a public school system, when he first noticed pronounced tremors, speech difficulties and walking problems developing. In this book, Daniel chronicles his life with a Parkinson's Plus syndrome and explains how he dealt with the neurological decline that resulted. Read a user-friendly, patient's explanation of the defining symptoms of these atypical Parkinsonism disorders and find out how this neuro-degenerative disease progressed in Dan's case. He writes a compelling and inspirational story of how he maintained his faith in God, while courageously facing life with a movement disorder.

Daniel R. Brooks, Ed.D., (Dan) was born in 1955 in Long Beach, California. Dan holds Bachelor of Arts (1980) and Master of Arts (1986) degrees from California State University, Long Beach. In addition, the author completed an Educational Doctorate Degree (2003) at La Sierra University, in Riverside, California. Dan's career included 30 years working in public schools. He served as an instructional aide, teacher, assistant principal, principal, director and assistant superintendent. Dan developed an movement disorder, forcing him to retire in the Spring of 2007. After retirement, Dan began to write a blog on the Internet to explain and discuss Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Plus syndromes, while sharing his personal experience. This blog, called "PD Plus Me," led the writing of this book. Dan and his wife were married in 1981, and together they have three grown children and a daughter-in-law. Dan first noticed pronounced tremors, movement difficulties and balance problems in the summer of 2005. In addition to writing, Dan is a singer, guitarist and songwriter. He has recorded two CD's and has a third in progress. I WILL GO ON was Dan's second album, and was completed in 2006.
