Pieps, Sarah: - Following her interest in drawing and art, Sarah graduated from The University of Applied Science in Münster, Germany with a 'Diplom degree' (equivalent to a bachelor's degree) in Media Design. Sarah started her career working with the design studio Giraffentoast in Hamburg. Her creative field covered mostly 2D and 3D illustration and animation. With focus on finding unusual solutions, she combined interdisciplinary skills and media, creating unique ideas for various TV and internet productions. Sarah's passion to travel the world brought her to New Zealand, where she continued exploring the landscape of the digital world in design, working with different design studios around Wellington. After becoming a mum to two girls, Sarah started to explore the realm of mindfulness. She delved into topics around brain function, growth mindset, breath work, meditation, and yoga. This interest led her to completing a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course in 2022. Sarah's enthusiasm for Yoga and meditation resulted in her recently also completing a Meditation Teacher Training course. Being a mum has influenced Sarah's work as a designer immensely. Her illustration style became more handmade, rather than computer based. In 2023 she self-published a children's activity book that enhances kid's creativity in a playful way but also imparts awareness practises to empower kids in their everyday life. Sarah intends to share her knowledge around illustration and mindfulness with children around the community, by offering creative workshops that enhance awareness, curiosity, and creativity.
