Sir Theodore Morison (1863–1936) was an esteemed British educationalist who held significant positions such as a Member of the Council of India and Director of the University of London Institute in Paris. His notable expertise lies in interpreting and understanding Muslim life in India. Following his studies at the University of Cambridge, he embarked on a career in the Department of Education. Later, he assumed the role of educational advisor to the young rulers of Chattarpur (Bundel-Khand) and Charkhari (Hamirpur), which led to his relocation to India. From 1899 to 1905, he served as the principal of the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College, and from 1906 onwards, he held a position on the Council of India. Additionally, Morison served as the principal of the College of Sciences at Durham University from 1919 to 1929 and also held the principalship of Armstrong College. Notably, he served as the Vice Chancellor of Durham University from 1924 to 1926.
