Some can spend hours a day reading or watching TV. Others play sports or board games to relieve the boredom. While some others write letters, poems, journals, and novels.

Hood, Chronicles: - Born on the west side of Chicago, Hood Chronicles found himself conditioned to the violence surrounding him at an early age. Indulging in a thug's life, as a former drug dealer, weapons trafficker, and convicted felon, he realized that he could no longer follow the footsteps of deception. He soon found a better path to tread in the literary world. After witnessing abuse, domestic violence, and murder, his mother decided to relocate down south to Georgia. College Park may have been a breath of fresh air to her, but for him, his new home on Godby Road presented the same horrific sights as the Illinois streets. Coming of age, Hood found himself dabbling in the drug trade in order to earn extra money. Things were going well until he found a crack head's knife at his teenage throat. Robbed of all of his money and drugs, Hood vowed to never leave himself vulnerable again. With a newfound passion for guns, he couldn't avoid the violence in which his mother attempted to save him from. Categorized as a menace to society by the Atlanta Police department, Hood became imprisoned as a child for the offense of murder. What appeared to be a curse, eventually became his precious gift. As time passed, maturity developed and a new purpose in life was born. Facing the death penalty, Hood Chronicles fought for a lighter sentence that would grant him some type of opportunity to rectify his ways. While incarcerated, he began to write about his life in the streets and the pitfalls of reckless conduct. Realizing his talent for the art of storytelling combined with the graphic experiences of a hustler's ambition, Hood quickly took notice of his way out of the Trap. Transitioning from a thug, to a revered voice in the literary world, Hood Chronicles is now more focused than ever. Sa'id, Salaam: - Sa'id Salaam hails from the Bronx, New York. He recalls wanting to be an author from an early age. His love of literature stemmed from his mother reading bedtime stories to him as a child. He didn't pen his first story until becoming incarcerated on trumped up charges of murder. He maintains his innocence and is aggressively fighting the wrongful conviction. Meanwhile, he puts the pen to the paper at an incredible rate. To date, Sa'id has written and published over sixty titles from a prison cell. A student of the industry, he decided to self publish and started his own publishing company. Urban Aesop Publications has a growing roster of some of the best new authors in the game. He initially started the company out of necessity after a bad deal with a shady publisher. It also allows him to help other incarcerated authors get their stories out to the world. Sa'id is widely regarded as one of the freshest voices in the game. His diverse catalog shows why. He is well known for his vivid descriptions, hilarious wit, and dynamic wordplay. Fans call him the Aesop of urban lit because of the real life lessons he weaves into his stories. He was once called the "next Donald Goines" to which he replied, "Thanks, but no thanks. I'm the first Sa'id Salaam."
