Alongside his medical and botanical pursuits, he also showcased his talent as a Marathi poet. Notably, Kirtikar held strong conservative Hindu beliefs, which shaped his perspectives and ideologies. Major Baman Das Basu (1867-1930) was a multi-talented Indian figure, serving as an army physician, botanist, nationalist, historian, and writer. he made a successful career in the Indian Medical Service.
