B. durch intraoperatives Gewebstrauma, durch GefiiBligatu- ren, durch Himschwellung, durch Luftembolie bei Operationen in sitzender Posi- tion oder auch begleitend zu tiefer kontrollierter Hypotension. Unter diesem Aspekt bieten sie fiir den betreuenden Anasthesisten eine besondere Herausforde- rung, der er sowohl durch allgemeine MaBnahmen im Sinne der Erhaltung ausrei- chender lokaler und globaler cerebraler Sauerstoffverfiigbarkeit als auch durch spezifisch, e MaBnahmen fUr eine mogliche Verbesserung der cerebralen Ischamieto- leranz zu begegnen sucht. Urn neueste Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet des perioperativen Himschutzes zu diskutieren, trafen sich in Frankfurt zu einer Gesprachsrunde Neurochirurgen und Anasthesisten zum Erfahrungsaustausch auf diesem fiir beide Disziplinen wichtigen Gebiet. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen eigener klinischer Untersuchungen sowie auf neueren Aspekten zur Pathophysiologie, Pathobiochemie und Pharmakothera- pie des cerebralen Oz-Mangelsyndroms sollte versucht werden, 'Ansatzpunkte fUr neue therapeutische Richtlinien auszuarbeiten, die sich zukiinftig vielleicht zu einem erfolgversprechenden Konzept der Pravention und Behandlung cerebral-ischami- scher Verletzungen ausbauen lassen.
