Die Induktionsmaschine ist in ihrem Aufbau die einfachste elektrische Maschine. In der Ausführung mit Kurzschlu käfig besitzt sie nur eine unter Spannung stehende Wicklung und stellt damit eine äu erst betriebssichere Maschine dar. Daher hat der Induktionsmotor einen au erordentlich gro en Anwendungsbereich erobert. Zur Zeit beherrscht er das Gebiet der nicht regel- baren Antriebe sowie der Antriebe mit geringen prüchen an die Regelbarkeit. Im Bestreben, den Anwendungsbereich der Induktionsmaschine zu erweitern, wurden die Eigenschaften der Maschine im Laufe der Zeit sowohl theoretisch als auch praktisch einer gründlichen Untersuchung unterzogen. Während das grund- sätzliche Verhalten der Maschine bereits vor etwa 20 Jahren erforscht wurde und seinen Niederschlag in dem bekannten Buch von RICHTER gefunden hat, geht die Entwicklung der letzten Zeit in der Richtung der Verbesserung des Anlaufes, der Drehzahlregelung und der Verminderung der Zusatzverluste. Der Leistungsbereich der Maschine ist nach beiden Richtungen hin erweitert worden, wodurch dem Berechnungsingenieur neue Probleme gestellt wurden. Bei den gro en Motoren sind dies: die mechanischen Kräfte und die Erwärmung sowohl im stationären als auch im Übergangszustand. Bei den kleinsten Motoren, die als Einphasenmotoren ausgeführt werden, steht die Beherrschung des Anlaufes im Brennpunkt der Entwicklung. Alle neueren Entwicklungsarbeiten sind zusammen mit den bereits bekannten und klassisch gewordenen Arbeiten im vorliegenden Werk gesammelt. Es gibt damit den heutigen Stand unserer Kenntnis über die Induktionsmaschinen wieder. Auch die langjährigen eigenen praktischen Erfahrungen des Verfassers in der Berechnung der Induktionsmaschinen sind hier berücksichtigt.
