About The Author

Hans-Jürgen Arpe, geboren in Raisdorf bei Kiel, studierte an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel Chemie. Nach der Promotion bei Prof. R. Grewe war er im Koninklijke/Shell-Laboratorium in Amsterdam und bei der Shell-Grundlagenforschung in Schloss Birlinghoven bei Bonn tätig. Neben der Leitung der Forschungsabteilung Aliphatische Zwischenprodukte bei der Hoechst AG in Frankfurt/Höchst hatte er eine Honorarprofessur an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen inne. Von 1987 bis 1992 war er Leiter der Wissenschaftlichen Bibliothek der Hoechst AG.
