Este trabajo se enfoca en estrategias de manejo representativas de la agricultura ecológica (AE) para la gestión de agrosistemas en línea con las directivas europeas actuales. El objetivo es impulsar prácticas agronómicas sostenibles que preserven la materia orgánica y nutrientes del suelo, manteniendo la producción y aumentando la resiliencia ante el cambio global. El estudio se centra en evaluar el efecto de la adición de compost, cubiertas vegetales (sembradas y espontáneas) y la presencia de ganado en la calidad y fertilidad del suelo. Se llevó a cabo un experimento en macetas utilizando suelo de una finca de olivar ecológico ("Cortijo El Puerto", Lora del Río). El compost utilizado procedente de la finca, se caracterizó como maduro, con alto contenido en nutrientes y bajo contenido en metales pesados. En el primer muestreo del suelo, se observó que el compost mejoró la retención de agua y el contenido de carbono y nutrientes, resultando en mayores rendimientos de biomasa. Las propiedades bioquímicas del suelo no se vieron afectadas por el compost. En el segundo muestreo, se concluyó que las cubiertas vegetales influyeron más en la calidad del suelo que las deposiciones del ganado, excepto en la actividad deshidrogenasa, que se vio positivamente afectada. La aplicación del compost mostró un cierto efecto inhibitorio en algunas actividades enzimáticas. Aunque se necesitan estudios a largo plazo y en campo, este trabajo demuestra que la implementación adecuada de prácticas agrícolas sostenibles puede mejorar la calidad y resiliencia de los agrosistemas, considerando análisis previos del suelo y dosis adecuadas de compost.
