The job seemed simple enough. Cory Hatfield has been arrested for the murder of a girl he worked with. Rebecca Walcott was another girl who disappeared and now her distraught parents believe Hatfield may be responsible for what happened to their daughter. They employ Dean and Steph to try to prove that and to find out where her remains are buried. The deeper the detectives delve however, the more tangled the web of intrigue, drug use and lies becomes. The body count increases, the net around the suspects tightens and it becomes apparent that not only did Cory Hatfield not abduct Rebecca, he may very well be innocent of the crime with which he is charged.

Derek Coleman was born in Birmingham in the heart of the United Kingdom but now lives in beautiful West Virginia, USA in a land where the tree-clad mountains dip into the Ohio River Valley. He has been writing virtually since he was big enough to hold a pen, has won various prizes and has an ongoing column in the Putnam Herald newspaper. An avid fan of military history he is the author of numerous articles, particularly on the Revolutionary War. 'Guilty?', which introduced the detective team of Dean & Steph, was his first crime novel and the sequels, 'Beneficiary' and 'Traitor' are now joined by 'Innocent?'. Other books now available are 'The Litchfield Conspiracy', a political thriller and 'Weoley' a blockbuster covering 900 years of British history. 'Liberty, ' a novel of the Revolutionary War and "The Prince's Puzzle' a crime story set in 17th century England will be available in 2015 as well as 'Cheaters', the next in the Dean and Steph series..
