Diese Arbeit wird einf�hrend auf den Bereich der musikalischen Erwachsenenbildung eingehen und Ans�tze zur Unterrichtsgestaltung aufzeigen. Instrumentalunterricht f�r Erwachsene ist ein Teilgebiet der musikalischen Erwachsenenbildung, welche zwischen der Musikp�dagogik und der Erwachsenenbildung angesiedelt ist (vgl. Holtmeyer 1993, S.479). Dem Leser soll anhand folgender vier Kernfragen eine Hilfestellung zur eigenst�ndigen Erarbeitung des Themengebiets an die Hand gegeben werden: - Wer ist der erwachsene Instrumentalsch�ler? - Macht es noch Sinn, im Erwachsenenalter ein Instrument zu erlernen? - Wie lernt der erwachsene Instrumentalsch�ler? - Was ist beim Unterrichten von Erwachsenen zu beachten? Wenn in vorliegender Arbeit von Sch�ler oder Erwachsenem die Rede ist, so ist damit gleicherma en die Sch�lerin oder die Erwachsene angesprochen. Der Einfachheit und dem besseren Verst�ndnis halber wird jedoch das maskuline Genus verwendet. Wie h�ufig bei Texten andragogischen Inhalts (Andragogik: die Wissenschaft vom lebenslangen und lebensbreiten Lernen Erwachsener) soll auch diese Ausarbeitung keinen Anspruch auf absolute G�ltigkeit haben, sondern eher als "Facilitator" = Lernerleichterer verstanden werden. Um Instrumentalunterricht mit Erwachsenen anschaulich darstellen zu k�nnen, ist es oft n�tig, Kinder und Jugendliche zum Vergleich heranzuziehen. Dies hat zwei Gr�nde: 1. Es liegen viel mehr wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse �ber diesen Forschungsbereich vor. 2. Instrumentallehrer haben in aller Regel gr� ere Praxiserfahrung im Unterrichten von Kindern und Jugendlichen.
