In den Jahren 2015 und 2016 sind rund 1,2 Millionen Schutzsuchende nach Deutschland eingewandert, was eine enorme Flüchtlingsmigration auszeichnete. In den darauffolgenden Jahren nahm die Einwanderungszahl zwar wieder ab, jedoch ist die Integration von Flüchtlingen sowohl in die Gesellschaft als auch in den Arbeitsmarkt von hoher Bedeutung. Geflüchtete Menschen stehen vor gro en Herausforderungen, wie z.B. sprachlichen Barrieren, rechtlichen Hindernissen sowie bestehender Diskriminierung in Bezug auf ihre ethnische und religiöse Herkunft. Zudem erschwert ihnen ein ungeklärter Aufenthaltsstatus den Zugang zur Erwerbstätigkeit, da Unternehmen unter diesen Bedingungen eine Einstellung umgehen. Eine hohe Anzahl der Geflüchteten sind gebildete Menschen. In ihren Herkunftsländern haben sie Berufe wie Mediziner, Juristen oder ähnliches erlernt. In Deutschland stehen sie vor der Barriere des Anerkennungsverfahrens, welches ihre Qualifizierung nach deutschen Standards prüft. Dabei haben Flüchtlinge mit schlechter Bildung oder mit psychischen Gesundheitsstörungen geringere Chancen, eine Erwerbstätigkeit zu finden. Des Weiteren wird im Integrationsprozess die Förderung von Bildung und Ausbildung, in Form von Projekten zur Einstiegsqualifizierung, von jungen Geflüchteten angestrebt. Auch soll durch die Integration von Flüchtlingen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt dem bestehenden Fachkräftemangel entgegengewirkt werden.
