Interactive Fiction in Cinematic Virtual Reality offers a narrative model that combines live-action 360 video with an interactive fiction structure to create immersive and interactive narrative experiences. The book presents an epistemology of immersive interactive movies that analyzes their artistic, narrative, and interactive qualities; the production workflow of immersive-interactive movies; and an evaluation methodology for this kind of experiences. This volume seeks to shed light on the evolution of narrative immersive experiences at a time when computer-mediated immersion is rapidly becoming the norm.

Reyes, Maria Cecilia: - Maria Cecilia Reyes is a creator, researcher, and professor working at the convergence of immersion, narrative, and communication theory. She holds a dual PhD degree in Digital Humanities from the University of Genoa and Communication from the Universidad del Norte. She was artist-in-residence at the Schloss Solitude Akademie (Germany) in 2021, and postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Educational Technologies of the National Research Council of Italy. She is also a member of the Association for Research on Digital Interactive Narratives (ARDIN) and full-time professor of the Communication Department at Universidad del Norte in Colombia.
