Hierbei wird sowohl die geschichtliche Entwicklung der Interjektionen als auch eine Differenzierung zu anderen Wortarten dargestellt. An dieser Stelle werden Interjektionen mit den Wortarten der Partikeln und Routinen verglichen. Eine genauere Beschreibung der Klassifikation von Interjektionen wird im nachfolgenden Kapitel vorgenommen. Es wird folglich zwischen der morpho-phonologischen und der semantischen Einteilung differenziert. Hierbei werden sowohl die primären als auch die sekundären Interjektionen genauer definiert und analysiert. Anschlie end findet eine Beschreibung der Funktion der Intonation bei Interjektionen in Kapitel 4 statt. Die zentralen Begriffe Tonverlauf, Tonhöhenniveau und Tondehnung werden in diesem Abschnitt erläutert und genauer betrachtet. Interjektionen stellen einen integralen Bestandteil unserer Sprache dar. Sie werden in der deutschen Sprache, aber auch in allen anderen nahezu ununterbrochen meist unbewusst genutzt. In der Linguistik wurden Interjektionen jedoch lange vernachlässig. Bis in die 90er Jahre gab es kaum Veröffentlichungen über diese Wortart, in der heutigen Zeit wird jedoch zunehmend ihre Bedeutung hervorgehoben.
