Ob in der Gro industrie, Stadtverwaltung oder der Sozialarbeit, in den Bewerbungen und in der Arbeitswelt wird interkulturelle Kompetenz gefordert. In den letzten Jahren wurden verschiedene Initiativen und Projekte gestartet, die speziell auf das Thema Interkulturelle Kompetenz im Ehrenamt ausgerichtet sind. Bisher wurde die interkulturelle Bildung und Fortbildung von in der Integrationsarbeit tätigen Ehrenamtlichen kaum thematisiert. Sie treffen in ihren Arbeitsfeldern in unterschiedlichen Situationen auf andere Menschen, deren kulturelle Prägungen und Lebensvorstellungen sich von den eigenen sehr unterscheiden. Die unterschiedlichen Vorstellungen von Werten und Normen sowie Sprachbarrieren können leicht zu Konflikten führen. Daher ist die Ausarbeitung eines speziell auf diese Zielgruppe ausgerichteten Konzeptes für interkulturelles Kompetenztraining unerlässlich. Ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter spielen in der Integrationsarbeit eine tragende Rolle. Ohne ihr Engagement wäre das gesellschaftliche Zusammenleben in einer Kommune undenkbar. Was muss man bei der Konzeption von interkulturellen Kompetenztrainings für Ehrenamtliche in der Integrationsarbeit beachten? Welche Rolle spielt Interkulturelle Kompetenz im Bereich der ehrenamtlichen Integrationsarbeit? Meine Masterarbeit soll verschiedene Aspekte aufzeigen, die bei einem interkulturellen Kompetenztraining für Ehrenamtliche in der Integrationsarbeit berücksichtigt werden müssen. In der Relation zum Kompetenztraining für andere Bereiche soll gezeigt werden, welche grundlegenden Unterschiede bestehen und wie sie für diesen speziellen Bereich modifiziert werden können. Dabei muss die Komplexität der Definition von "Kultur" und "Interkulturalität" berücksicht
