Tatsächlich gehört zum Erlernen einer Fremdsprache jedoch viel mehr, als lediglich das Beherrschen der Grammatik oder eines umfangreiches Vokabulars. Obgleich diese Aspekte für die flüssige und präzise Verständigung unumgänglich sind, genügt es nicht, sich die grammatische Struktur alleine anzueignen, d.h. Syntax, Lexis, etc. zu kennen, um eine Fremdsprache erfolgreich verinnerlichen zu können. Vielmehr spielt kulturelles Bewusstsein und Erfahrung bezüglich der Kultur(en) der entsprechenden Fremdsprache eine au erordentliche Rolle im Prozess des Sprachenlernens. Kulturelles Bewusstsein steht insbesondere dann im Vordergrund, wenn Etikette oder das Vermeiden von Missverständnissen in interkulturellen Gesprächs- situationen erfordert wird. Die interkulturelle kommunikative Kompetenz ist eine Schlüsselqualifikation der Schülerinnen und Schüler, die es ihnen ermöglichen soll, mit Muttersprachlern der entsprechenden Fremdsprache erfolgreich kommunizieren zu können. Die interkulturelle Komponente spielt in der Fremdsprachendidaktik inzwischen eine au erordentlich gro e Rolle - schlie lich ist Befähigung zur Kommunikation in authentischen und realen Gesprächssituationen mit Hilfe der Fremdsprache das oberstes Ziel des Fremdsprachenlernens. Um diesem Ziel ein Stück näher zu kommen, das bedeutet, Platz zu schaffen für interkulturelle Erfahrungen und bedeutsame Kommunikation im und au erhalb des Klassenraums, bietet das interkulturelle Lernen viele Chancen um eine Fremdsprache erfolgreich zu erlernen, so dass auch nach Beendigung der Schullaufbahn weiterhin Motivation zum Fremdsprachenler
