Organisierte Banden, die bis früh in die Geschichte reichen, sind so weit expandiert, dass sich ganze kriminelle (auf internationale Ebene), durch den Zusammenschluss weltweit organisierter Banden, Netzwerke etabliert haben. Im Zuge der Globalisierung konnten kriminelle Organisationen feste Operationsbasen ausbauen, von denen sie aus international agieren, schmuggeln und handeln. Der Jahresumsatz von Verbrecherbanden wird bei 800 Mrd. geschätzt. Auch durch die fortschreitende Technologie und Digitalisierung, wird es kriminellen Organisationen immer leichter gemacht, deren Spuren und illegalen Machenschaften zu verschleiern. So wird Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft unsäglich in Mitleidenschaft gezogen. Noch schlimmer wirkt sich dies auf den Staat bzw. Die Strafverfolgung aus. Hierbei stellt sich die Frage, ob die vorherrschenden Bekämpfungsma nahmen ausreichen bzw. die Strafverfolgung überlegener in Sachen Technologie und strategischer Vorgehensweise bei der Kriminalitätsbekämpfung ist als kriminelle Banden. So kann diese Frage eigentlich schon mit Nein beantwortet werden, da die Strafverfolgung nicht immer benötigte Befugnisse, durch Gesetzte, Vorschriften und die Verschiedenheit der Länderverfassungen, auf internationaler Ebene hat, mit der organisierte Kriminalität, effektiv bekämpft werden kann. So haben Interpol und Europol, die später in der Arbeit näher analysiert werden, eine neue Dienststelle geschaffen, um die internationale Zusammenarbeit auf europäischer Ebene institutionell zu verankern und neu zu gestalten. Schlussendlich führt dies zu der Fragestellung, wie zukünftig gearbeitet werden muss. Hauptsächlich wie die internationale Zusammenarbeit gestärkt werden muss, um effektiv gegen kriminelle Netzwerke vorgehen zu kön
