Dr Bhat specializes in Community Medicine and his vision has also led to the is vision led to the establishment of the Centre for European Studies in Manipal in 2009.

Neeta Inamdar, Jean Monnet Chair, works as Research Professor at the Symbiosis Centre for Research on International Higher Education (SCRIHE), Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India. She has contributed to the establishment and growth of the Manipal Centre for European Studies in Manipal, which is presently a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. In 2015, she was instrumental in securing a Jean Monnet project focused on Internationalization of Higher Education and the Bologna Process.
