Risk management begins with the critical ability to identify and assess hazards before they manifest as accidents. This concise guide presents simple proven methodologies for hazard identification and assessment, equipping professionals with practical tools to anticipate potential dangers in their workplace. From HAZOP and "What if...?" Analysis, to Fault Tree and Event Tree Analyses and the Bowtie method, each technique is thoroughly explained with real-world applications drawn from the author's experience in accident investigation and consultancy.

The book explores both qualitative and quantitative hazard assessment techniques through a structured framework for evaluating the causes and consequences of workplace mishaps. By understanding these essential preliminary stages of Enterprise Risk Management, professionals gain the diagnostic tools necessary to implement effective controls and create safer work environments.
