The SECOND EDITION of everyone's favorite theatre arts curriculum book, Introduction to Theatre Arts, Volume 1, is now available!

This new edition is gender neutral, better organized, updated to reflect modern technology and social media, and has a 2020 copyright date! The Teacher's Guide still includes every page from the Student Workbook, yet is better organized with the notes to the teacher now appearing alongside the corresponding student page. Four additional sections in the Teacher's Guide supplement the material with teaching tools, evaluation tools, production tools, and tests and major projects. Tests even include two levels of difficulty.

Classroom-tested, the year-long curriculum covers the entire spectrum of theatre: theatre history, scene work, acting, characterization, publicity, play production, games and improvisations, and more. Energize your Theatre 1 class by engaging students in the idea of learning by doing.

Zimmerman, Suzi: - Suzi Zimmerman was the youngest of three children and, admittedly, a bit of a troublemaker. Her siblings were good at sports and music, but she seemed to be flailing. She knew she was creative and loved to perform, but her community focused mainly on sports and music. Those who lacked a place tended to become bored, which led to unacceptable behavior.

She finally discovered theatre, but only because it was offered at the high school level. It was then that she vowed to fight for more accessible performance opportunities for all levels. After college, she founded a local theatre troupe, which eventually became a community theatre, fulfilling her dream of bringing performance opportunities to all. After twenty years in public education, she is now a full-time writer, artist, and businessperson.

Zimmerman has acted professionally. She is the spokesperson for and director of New Hope Foundation, a nonprofit in northern Texas working to improve the lives of underprivileged families.
