Häufig werden Investitionen getätigt, ohne das diese eine Vorteilhaftigkeit mit sich bringen, im Gegenteil, häufig werden Gelder in Projekten angelegt welche am Ende statt einen Gewinn, einen Verlust erzielen. Ein Grund dafür ist, dass viele Unternehmen ihre Investitionsvorhaben nicht mit wissenschaftlichen Methoden durchkalkulieren. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, dem Leser zu verdeutlichen, dass es bei einer Investition nicht nur darum geht, am Ende einer Investition mehr Geld einzunehmen als ausgegeben wurde, sondern auf andere Aspekte eingegangen werden sollte so wie z.B. unterschiedliche Investitionsalternativen gegenüber zu stellen, um zu sehen, welche Investition tatsächlich vorteilhafter ist. In den folgenden Kapiteln dieser Arbeit, wird genau erklärt, was betriebswirtschaftlich unter einer vorteilhaften Investition zu verstehen ist und welche unterschiedlichen Methoden es gibt, um Investitionsalternativen zu bewerten. Au erdem wird auf das Thema Unsicherheit eingegangen und erläutert mit welchen Methoden man eine Unsicherheit im Bezug auf eine Investition eingehen kann.
