Aber auch der Goldpreis markierte 2008 ein Rekordhoch und überschritt zum ersten Mal die 1.000 USD-Marke. Keine Kursfeststellungen gab es jedoch für das "Blaue Gold", wie der lebensnotwendige Rohstoff Wasser oft bezeichnet wird. Denn dafür existiert kein Terminmarkt und es werden auch keine Börsenpreise ermittelt. Dennoch wird Wasser als eines der interessantesten Investmentthemen der Zukunft gesehen. Nicht nur aufgrund des nachhaltigen Charakters, den ein Investment in die Wasserbranche beinhalten kann, sondern vor allem wegen des hohen Potentials, den dieser Markt in sich birgt. In Deutschland befindet sich die Wasserinfrastruktur und -versorgung vorwiegend in öffentlicher Hand, andere Länder haben jedoch bereits damit begonnen, diesen Bereich zu privatisieren. Au erdem sind in vielen Staaten teure Projekte zur Sicherung der Wasserversorgung geplant. Einige wenige davon sind inzwischen schon abgeschlossen. So kostete eines der bislang grö ten Wasserkraftprojekte der Welt, der 3-Schluchten-Damm in China, schätzungsweise 75 Mrd. USD. Ungeachtet vieler Diskussionen, ob die Übertragung dieses Ressorts in gewinnorientierte Hände ethisch vertretbar ist und unter welchen Rahmenbedingungen dies geschehen kann, eröffnet diese Entwicklung neue und vielversprechende Investmentmöglichkeiten. Die vorliegende Arbeit greift dieses Thema aus Investorensicht auf. Dabei geht es jedoch nicht um den Handel mit der Ressource Wasser, sondern darum, welche Möglichkeiten sich dem Privatanleger bieten, an dieser Entwicklung zu profitieren. Zum Einstieg erfolgt in Kapitel 2 zunächst ein Überblick über die Ressource "Wasser". Dies beinhaltet die weltweiten Wasservorkommen sowie die globalen Veränderungen der Wasserverfügbarkei
