Einige bekannte Sufi-Dichter sind Kottaru Gnaniar, Thuckalai Peer Mohammed, Umar Wali, Sam Shihabuddin und Gunangudi Masthan. Wir erfahren, dass der Sufismus einen gro en Einfluss auf die Menschen in Tamil Nadu hatte, die von den Lehren der Brüderlichkeit, der Liebe zu Allah und dem Propheten Mohammed (Friede sei mit ihm) angezogen wurden.
