Jeffy hat, was man für ein glückliches Leben braucht: Er ist jung, lebt mit einer Frau zusammen, die ihn mehr liebt, als jeden anderen Mann, und auch die kleine Tankstelle, die er besitzt, wirft genug zum Überleben ab. Nichts Besseres könnte ihm also passieren - stünde die Tankstelle nicht kurz vor dem Zusammenbruch, wäre die Gegend nicht von Menschen leer gezogen und die Frau an seiner Seite nicht zwanzig Jahre älter. Jeffy will weg, aber er ist blind und da verlässt man nicht so einfach, was einem vertraut ist. Also richtet er sich ein: mit coolen Sprüchen, machohafter Sonnenbrille und illegalem Glücksspiel. Er klammert sich an die wenigen vertrauten Dinge, die ihm in den Jahren geblieben sind und versucht ein normales Leben. Bis Trennung und Abschied von allem nur umso schmerzhafter und endgültiger sein können.

Dietmar Haiduk wurde in Leipzig geboren. Nach einer Arbeit als Buchverkäufer begann er ein Studium der Filmregie an der Filmhochschule in Babelsberg. Es folgten Regieassistenzen, danach eine freiberufliche Tätigkeit als Dokumentarfilmregisseur und Autor. Dietmar Haiduk lebt heute in Potsdam und widmet sich neben seiner schriftstellerischen Arbeit erfolgreich der Konzeptentwicklung und Durchführung von Veranstaltungen unterschiedlichster Art.
