Judicial Interventions on The Advocates Act, 1961 (With State Legislations) is a timely and thought-provoking exploration of how the Indian judiciary has interpreted and shaped the contours of the legal profession through critical rulings under the Advocates Act, 1961. From landmark judgments that have defined the rights, duties and disciplinary framework of advocates to the evolving dynamics between the Bar and the Bench, this book examines the judiciary's role in reinforcing ethical standards and institutional accountability in legal practice. A special section is devoted to a rigorous critique of the Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2025, highlighting its far-reaching implications on the autonomy, self-regulation and disciplinary mechanisms governing the legal community in India. Blending scholarly insight with a practical perspective, this is an essential resource for legal professionals, academics, students and policymakers seeking to understand the intersection of law, ethics and professional governance in India's legal system.
